8 Digital Products that Earn AT LEAST $100/day

As you may know, I am a huge fan of digital products, specifically digital courses. This business model has allowed me to work from home, homeschool my kids, and work the flexible hours I choose.

BUT…

Creating digital courses is a TON of upfront work and really not passive in the short-term. Depending on the capacity you have to build out a quality course, you may choose to go a different direction or at least start with more simplified digital products.

There are other great options aside from courses to create a substantial side hustle or even generate full-time income, ranging from earnings of $100-1000 per day.

In this article, I want to share with you 8 additional digital product ideas that have good earning potential but are simpler to create than courses. These products can even be created on your phone, and they have potential to become passive streams of income for you because you can get paid thousands of times for the work you did just once.

The difference maker in your income potential is in how effectively you market these products.

#1 – teach a workshop or class

Hosting a workshop or teaching a class is a great option because it’s similar to creating an online course – but on a much smaller scale.

Whereas a course could be 10 modules long with dozens of video lessons, a workshop is usually 30-60 minutes in length, hosted live on a conferencing platform, and covers one main area of focus with a few key points.

It’s much easier to prepare for a live workshop, and If you record it, you can then sell it as an on-demand class on your own website or on a platform such as Udemy or Skillshare.

#2 – create Canva templates

Canva is a free graphic design software that many business owners use because it’s budget-friendly and easy to learn.

Inside of Canva is an array of templates users can choose from – some free, some paid. Non-designers love this feature because it helps them save money on hiring a professional for much of their graphic design needs. The templates make designing professional-looking graphics simple for the business owner.

What many entrepreneurs may not know is that you can create your own templates and sell them within Canva’s platform itself. You don’t need your own website to do it because Canva takes care of hosting your templates for you. You receive a commission when purchased, and Canva receives a kickback as well.

#3 – create and sell workbooks

There are workbooks for every topic under the sun… from personal development, to Bible studies, to teaching someone how to create wood carvings. There are workbooks out there for you to use individually as well as ones that are geared toward using with a small group.

Workbooks are a great digital resource! You can create one about any topic you have an interest or knowledge in. Then, you can sell it on your own website or a public marketplace such as Etsy or Teachers Pay Teachers

I use Teachers Pay Teachers when I’m looking for something specific for my homeschool. If my kids are interested in learning a concept or topic, many times I’ll search on the website for workbooks that could guide us through the learning process.

#4 – create and sell printables

Printables are similar to workbooks but even easier to make! You can create a printable one time for others to print out or even fill in digitally. The main difference is that printables are only up to a few pages long.

Here are some printable examples:

  • Habit tracker

  • Weekly menu

  • Social media calendar

  • Kids chore chart

  • Attendance chart for homeschool

The list goes on!

Your printables can be sold on your own website or on another platform such as Etsy or Teachers Pay Teachers.

#5 – create and sell a planner

So many people LOVE planners!

You can create a digital planner with the intent someone uses it online, or you can create printable planners for others to print out.

Here are some planner examples:

  • Weekly planner with a to-do list

  • Bullet journal planner

  • Content calendar planner for entrepreneurs

  • Goal planner

  • Meal planner

You could even customize a planner for a specific person – the creative, the analyzer, the writer, the dreamer, the Enneagram 4, and so on.

#6 – design photo presets

You may not have even known what a preset was until now!

A preset is a certain configuration of photo-editing settings designed to transform your digital images with vivid, beautiful finishes. Presets come in many different forms, including phone apps, software, plugins, or filters.

Rather than having to figure out all the different settings yourself, you can buy presets to help you out. Again, this makes creating professional images for business owners easy without needing a design or photography background.

If you’re a professional photographer or video editor, this could be a great digital product option for you, but even if you’re not, if you have an interest in it, it’s easy to get started. All you need to do is play around with the settings until you find a look you like. Once you find that look, then you’ll want to try the same setting on multiple photos to ensure it gives off the appearance you were expecting.

When you’re satisfied with the outcome, then you can export the photo setting as a preset and sell that exported file on a platform such as Adobe Photoshop.

#7 – create art printables

If you’re a creative who loves to draw, paint, or digitally create, this product option could be favorable to you. You can actually create the art piece physically or create it in a graphic design software and sell your artwork online. There’s really a market for both physical art and digital art.

I know you may think that art is a saturated market, and it is a space full of creativity, but the industry has only touched the surface when it comes to printable art. You can find gaps for specific genres or styles of art in the online space.

I recommend you browse Etsy to get some inspiration on how to stand out from the crowd in the art printables space.

#8 – system or software templates

The last digital product option we’ll talk about today is system templates.

In some software, there are a ton of different settings for you to configure or different ways to lay out certain things. This can be intimidating to those newer to the software, or it can be rather time consuming to set up.

With this option, you can create different layouts, systems, or setting configurations and export them to sell on your website or sometimes even within that particular software you’re creating the template for.

I use Asana as my project management system, and I love how organized it makes my business feel. However, there are so many settings or layouts I could utilize, that it makes setting up projects and tasks a bit daunting.

Asana has a marketplace inside its software where users can purchase project templates already set up and ready to customize. Anyone can create a layout or configuration and sell it on the platform. When a template sells, you receive a commission, and Asana takes a cut as well.

Think about a software you use often (like I use Asana). If you’re familiar with it already and have it set up to suit your needs, see if there’s a way to export your set up and sell it within that software or even on your website!

Inside my YouTube course, for example, students can download my production workflow for Asana or Trello and import into their account.

Effective marketing for your digital products

As we wrap up, think about something you’ve already created for yourself that you hadn’t intended to sell. Could it be turned into a digital product? Think about any printables or templates you may have designed for personal use. Could you export them and upload them to a specific marketplace and begin to make money off them?

A few of these eight digital product ideas are more specialized, but I’m convinced that any of these options could be used by anyone

So how do you market your products once you produce them?

If you choose to sell them on a specific marketplace, many times that marketplace will do the marketing work for you – as long as you do your due diligence and write solid descriptions alongside taking quality photos of the product.

However, there are products you may create that you would prefer to sell on your own website directly, and that means that you need to do a bulk of that marketing yourself.

Here are some articles I published about marketing that could help you out:

The last thing I want to mention (more of a disclaimer) is that, as soon as you start selling anything, no matter how big or small that product is, you are technically starting a business, and you need to set yourself up as one.

Within the U.S. there aren’t too many requirements to follow when first starting out if your business is small, but there are some things you need to be aware of such as how to register your business and creating a strategy for where you want to take your business in the long run.
