How Charity Bevan Validated Her Business Idea

When Charity Bevan joined VALIDATE earlier this year, it wasn't because she didn't know how to “start a business.”

In fact, she'd already been “running” her business for a couple of years at that point.

She had a website, plenty of blog articles, a few products for sale, and she was offering consulting services.

Her niche? Baby sleep consulting.

Her problem? It didn't seem like anyone actually wanted what she was offering!

Well… at least, kind of.

From the outside, it sure LOOKED like people wanted it. Not only did other (apparently successful) companies help their clients with this exact thing, but Charity also saw plenty of moms (and a few dads ?) asking for help getting their babies to sleep through the night.

And Charity knew this can be a real struggle because she'd had years of experience as a professional nanny.

But despite the apparent need parents had for this type of help, the fact was: Charity's business wasn't making any money.

That website, those social media posts, blog articles, and products were all just sitting there — not helping anyone!

“I just felt for the first time in a while, ‘Yep, you need to do this,’ clearly in my head, this just needs to happen. When I told my husband about it, he said, ‘Uh, yeah, you definitely need to do this.
The money is not an issue right now. It’s worth it.’”

Charity really wanted to teach parents how to help their babies sleep better. And she wanted her business to succeed!

But she'd come to the breaking point.

It was time to figure out, once and for all, if people wanted her services.

So… she signed up for VALIDATE.

Over the next eight weeks, we worked with Charity to refine what she was selling, conduct market research, and beta launch her product.

And, six weeks into the process… this happened:

Over the weekend, Charity made enough sales from her tiny audience that she successfully met her validation threshold.

Finally, Charity had the proof she was looking for. There really is demand for her product!

Not only did this really boost Charity's confidence in her business, it also gave her three valuable assets to use to grow it:

  • revenue to re-invest into her business

  • marketing assets — sales emails, a recorded webinar, and a checkout page — she can repurpose to sell her product repeatedly in the future

  • customers to provide her with testimonials she can use to make her marketing even more effective

What would these things mean for YOUR business — or business idea?

Whether you've already started working on your business, like Charity had, or right now it's only something you're dreaming of, we'd love to work with you to get the ball rolling and turn it into a success.

Here's what Charity had to say about VALIDATE:

I don't know whether or not VALIDATE would be right for you, because I don't know how important your business idea is to you.

I don't know whether or not YOU believe in it, or whether you're willing to put in the two months of work to put it to the test.

But, what I do know — and Charity confirms — is that the VALIDATE process works and is the best way to figure out your business's true potential.

And if that would be valuable to you, then I'd love to have you join our next VALIDATE class.

The validation process is perfect for anyone who wants to get their business off to the most successful start by doing market research to make their marketing messages as persuasive as possible. If that would be helpful to you then click HERE to register now.
